Oh so cool. Definately, definately gonna catch ths one.

Apparently he's reviving his 'one-man" show, which is how he started in the late 1970's. Killer!

I'm definately showin my age, but I have to admit - since I heard the news I've been humming "blinded me with science" ever since. Wink

Curious to know more? Great stuff here.

Check out the "Mr Dolby Remembers" section. Wow. Hilarious stuff - especially the part where 'Henry' (Tangerine Dream's old stage light computer -adapted by Tom to be a drum machine- "ended up being dropped down an elevator shaft in mysterious circumstances."

Hmmm. I wonder. Do you think he knows about LivePA.org? I would think it's quite possible he's already visited. Then again, he's obviously busy as hell preparing for this new tour.

If his tour gets some press - I have no doubt it will - it could be a real good thing for LivePA. Not that we have any cause or whatever, but he could certainly be a worthy champion of LivePA in general.

Also, 'Audioelectronic' a member of this forum recently posted that he is making Dolby's midi controllers for his upcoming tour. Nice.

I realize this is probably a pipe dream, but wouldn't it be cool if Thomas were to shout out some info about LivePA during his performances?

Posted some pics on my myspace blog:

http://blog.myspace.com/audioelectronic

It's an old signal generator used for tuning radio transmitters. I gutted it and used some Doepfer electronics + some custom interfacing for some of the controls.

There's a Logic environment that goes along with it, to map controllers and such.

Wow, that is definetly a cool looking controller. I dunno how practical it might be, but I have no idea what Dolby is going to be using it for. From the pics on his website it looks to fit in with his whole style very well.

Yeah, it's not the most practical thing. Smile

Weighted about 70lbs before I gutted it, it's down to about 30 now.

It's not so much about the practicality of it, but it is a showpiece, purely for stage use. He can actually play melodies and such with it - think of Kraftwerk's pocket calculator devices. Smile

Damn. What a sexy fucking controller. I'm SUCH a freak for retro technology...

Also: I want to be Thomas Dolby if/when I grow up.
